An Original Mac 128k

Once upon a time [meaning more than 2 weeks ago, since I’ve slept in the interim and can’t remember] I was given an original Mac 128k. This week I started cleaning out the hard drive on my primary work computer, and ran across these files, complete with pictures of the machine.

I had a blast playing with it. The entire OS fit in well under 100k on a 400k 3.5 inch floppy disk. There was no fan – the thing was VERY quiet.

It was amazing to me how much of the original OS was still around in the then-current OS {Mac OS 9.x}.

 

So in the interest of preserving these pictures, and clearing out some space on my hard drive, here is that original Mac:

Yes, this was a working original Macintosh, complete with several versions of system software, a lot of software,the original carrying case, an external floppy drive, keyboard, mouse, and cables.
